Tom Scheerer has been practicing architectural and interior design in Manhattan since 1985. His work is characterized by clear and logical architectural solutions combined with beautiful, comfortable furnishings.

In addition to delivering the XHTML/CSS based on PSD designs, I developed a slider based image gallery using JQuery and jQuery.SerialScroll. Each gallery loads dynamically without a page refresh. New galleries are easily added with just a few lines of code.

For Tocar Interior Design I implemented all XHTML/CSS and JavaScript based on PSD designs from Marker Design. The JavaScript deliverables included:

Back To Basics Toys

“Back To Basics Toys was founded in 1988 by discerning parents who wanted their children to enjoy the same quality of play that they remembered and cherished.”

My role on the Back to Basics Toys redesign was “template builder & front-end adviser”. Working with PSD designs from Marker Design I developed XHTML/CSS templates that were applied to an existing e-commerce site by a 3rd party.

Once the templates were handed off to the 3rd party developers I assisted with integration, provided IE6 compatibility support, debugged various HTML errors from the CMS, and analyzed their code providing suggestions to speed up rendering.

Originally launched in 2002, I developed a front end gallery site and a custom CMS written in PHP. The CMS manages all photo galleries and a database of store locations. The CMS allows for bulk importation of images and parsing of text data from Excel.

Just The Right Book was a great project. The design was provided by Marker Design and I provided HTML/CSS & Javascript to Embecee for implementation. I created several custom jQuery user interface modules including:

Mark Logic Ajax Demo

“Mark Logic Corporation is a leading provider of information infrastructure software.”

Mark Logic needed a site demonstrating Ajax interaction with their custom backend. In addition to Ajax, Mark Logic wanted a rich user interface with drag/drop and dynamic data loading.

Using jQuery I developed a modular application that built the entire interface via Ajax requests. The modular approach allowed each interface element to load and update only when needed.

Some of the Object-Oriented JavaScript written for this project included:

Request Parsing/Searching
Helpers for Parsing/Processing Form Values
Custom Module Loader – Module Registration/Loading/Re-Loading
Application Debugger

During this project I worked closely with Mark Logic developers providing code & support.
